Ken & Robin Hower’s 1949 Ford Woodie Wagon

Phoebe is a 1949 Ford Custom Station Wagon.  She is 100% stock other than the paint color.  She has her original 221 Flat Head V8, 3 speed trans with overdrive.  All is original including her wood.  I’ve had her nearly three years now and she was a car I wanted and wished for, for a very long time.  We drive her all the time.  Recently up to Big Basin Redwoods outside of Santa Cruz for some camping fun.

We joined the Santa Barbara Woodie Club before we even had purchased her and she made her debut at “Woodies on the Beach” 2018.

The mural in the picture was painted just several days before we bought the car and got the chance to pull over and snap a picture.  We met the artist by chance later as he was admiring the car and mentioned he had done that mural. Phoebe is a good old girl and we love her dearly.
