Bob Perkins’ 1967 Sandwinder Dune Buggy

Since I was 12 years old, that was 1964, I wanted a Manx or similar dune buggy.  At 69 years old, I settled on a Sandwinder body which is very close to a Manx with a 1967 VW pan.  Brothers Machine Shop provided a 2017cc dual 40 Weber Carbs with Solid State Ignition.  Floor mats were provided by Cocomats, seats are Corbeau, reupholstered with vinyl for easier cleaning.  Rear cage was installed after light rear end incident took out my previous engine, a 1835cc. Rear flag whip lights up green so will be seen better at night. Has become a daily driver around town and up and down the coast.– Bob Perkins
