Ken Hower’s ’62 Corvette

I bought Lucy, our 1962 Chevrolet Corvette C-1 in 2014 up in Santa Rosa, CA.  She is the 30th to the last built and has electric windows, a rare option.  The car is completely stock with a 327 cu.in. engine with 4 speed transmission with soft and hard tops.  Lucy has always been a California car, having been originally purchased in Palm Springs, CA. where she stayed until moving to Santa Rosa, CA. The color is the original she came with, Roman Red with black interior and salt & pepper carpet.   

Drove the car for a couple of months before bringing it in for a full restoration in May 2014.  The car was taken down to the chassis and all necessary parts were replaced. There had been some bad glass repair in her history and had been painted 5 times.  At one time the car had a trailer hitch on it as they had a huge beam welded across the frame.  Doing that they cut a big hole in the trunk that was repaired as well. 

Anyway, I got Lucy back May 2016, just in time for the Father’s Day Car show where she won Best Overall Domestic Car.  She’s won many accolades since then, including Best Corvette at Wheels & Windmills in Solvang, CA. in 2018.  Lucy has been in a music video, a national print ad for Guess with J-Lo in Spring 2020, and several movies.  I Love Lucy!!!  – Ken Hower
