For the third year in a row, downtown Carmel-By-The-Sea was turned into a huge outdoor Ferrari showroom featuring an expansive display of current models that included hybrid supercars like the 1,000 horsepower 2023 SF90 Stradale Assetto. Dozens of other fantasy machines like 458 Spiders, Italias, and Portofino M models lined beautiful Pacific Avenue as well as the city’s fairy tale-inspired side streets.

Legacy vehicles were also prominently exhibited in various groupings throughout the event area. Along with grand touring cars and sports racers, such as the 196 S and 330 GTC, examples of special guest Italian marque Maserati were excellent inclusions (especially a personal favorite, a 1957 Maserati A6G 2000 Gran Sport). Benelli, Ducati, MV Agusta, and Parilla motorcycles were also present in large numbers as featured brands for this year’s event.

Attendees were also treated to a light-hearted celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 308 Dino and its notoriety in the 1980’s TV show Magnum, P.I. The show’s theme song played in the background while contestants competed in a Tom Selleck lookalike contest, all of whom were wearing Hawaiian shirts and sporting moustaches like the program’s namesake Thomas Magnum. This amusing episode was preceded by music played by an energetic live band whose lead singer delighted the audience with his takes on popular songs in English and Italian.

The organization of the Ferrari Owners Club Concours is extremely well done and its scope is impressive in that it offers a range of vehicles that is a Ferrari aficionado’s dream. The fact that the event occurs in an equally dreamy setting adds to its appeal. As a result, with adherence to the precautions regarding parking in Carmel as noted in the Astons On The Avenue review, this event is another must-see for every Monterey Car Week attendee.
