August 21-24, 2025 – Limited Spots Available

(MADISON, WI)  The 19th OpenAir Classic tour that will be based in beautiful Eau Claire, Wisconsin, taking place August 21-24, 2025. Tour registration will close in early August and registrations must be posted by August 1, 2025, to ensure a spot on the starting grid. There are about 25 of 200 grid spots (first come, first in) available.

Known as “The most spectacular topless auto tour in the country” the OpenAir Classic Tour, (OAC) will  take up to 200 convertibles, T-tops and open-top Jeep-type vehicles on extraordinary, deep-dive, backroad driving tours through “Real America” on scenic, winding, two-lane country roads that twist along river valleys, climb high up the steep bluffs and follow the picturesque ridges in rural northwest Wisconsin.

“If car lovers would build a theme-park playground for openair cars, it would look like this tour,” says Gary Knowles, founder and co-director of OpenAir Tours. “This is a tour for people who love driving their cars, touring, and cruising through National Geographic quality country, discovering places no one should miss, and having a great adventure with other fun-loving car-people and Norman Rockwell communities along the way.”

“We’re pleased to announce we’ll have a very special guest join us – Sarah Hagenow, Wisconsin’s 78th “Alice in Dairyland,” will share her insider tips on where to find and enjoy fine Wisconsin produce & products as we tour the backwater nooks and crannies of the Badger state!”

Registration is underway now and spaces are filling quickly. Download a free tour brochure with photos, highlights, lodging info, schedule, details and registration form at OpenAirTours.com. Registration fees for the entire four-day event are $389 per vehicle with driver & navigator. Current OAC members get a member discount.

“We welcome any make or model open-air car, jeep, T-tops – and any vintage. We have already had many registrations from previous tour participants, and we are happy to welcome new people. The point of this tour is to have fun! We provide easy-to-follow, turn-by-turn instructions with great check points along the way. No experience necessary! We are delighted to have some spots open this year. This is what convertibles were made for!”

The OAC tour was organized in 2006 picking up a tradition started by the former Wisconsin Convertible Classic Tour (1993-2005.)  The OAC isa four-day back roads cruise that moves around Wisconsin and the upper Midwest region each August. It visited the Driftless Region based out of Dubuque, IA in 2024, toured Apostle Islands Country in 2023, and Door County/Green Bay in 2022. It was last based in Eau Claire in 2019.

This is a perfect way to experience the extraordinary essence of Wisconsin on an unforgettable classic road trip as you celebrate the 250th anniversary of this country’s founding and the priceless, exhilarating freedom of driving the American open-road.
