It has been announced that Hanna Motorsports’ jet-powered funny cars, the “GOJO Firebird” and the XLERATOR “Top Secret” Firebird, will be appearing at four NHRA National Events in 2015. If you’ve not seen a jet car in person, you might want to make note of these dates, the first of which is coming right up: The well-known NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville, Florida, March 12-16.
In addition to the Gatornationals, the team will run additional events including the initial 4-Wide Nationals in Charlotte, North Carolina, March 27-29, the Toyota Summernationals in Englishtown, New Jersey, June 4-7, and the Keystone Nationals in Reading, Pennsylvania, October 1-4.
But even if none of these NHRA dates works for you, the Hanna Motorsports Team fields three exhibition jet cars, and appears at more than 70 events each year across the country. In addition to the two jet funny cars, the team also operates the all-new “Queen of Diamonds II” semi-streamliner 300 MPH Jet Dragster driven by Jill Fazekas. Jill and this car recently appeared on Car Show Safari’s Instagram, at the Philadelphia Auto Show.
NHRA drag racing events offer outstanding fan access to the participants, and the Hanna Motorsports team will have both cars on display the opening day of each event and drivers Rich Hanna and Ken Hall will meet fans, explain the workings of their unique machines, and sign autographs.
