★★★Established in 2006, the Route 66 Car Club is a Rubidoux High School Associated Student Body club for students in the Auto Paint and Refinishing class. The club’s advisor, Mr. Weber, is a skilled paint craftsman and creative fabricator with over four decades of teaching experience at Rubidoux High School and Riverside City College.
The Route 66 Car Club serves as a bridge between the local car community and the Auto Paint and Refinishing Essentials and Advanced classes provided by the Riverside County Office of Education’s Career Technical Education (CTE) Unit at Rubidoux High School. Enrolled students gain a foundational understanding of the auto collision trade, as well as intermediate and advanced skills in auto body repair and refinishing. The club offers students chances to engage with industry leaders, organize car shows, network within the car community, and forge connections with potential employers.
Since its inception in 1982, the program has motivated students to enhance their skills. It aims to nurture creativity and prepare students for future careers in the auto repair sector. The courses allow students to develop their talents alongside technical education and training.
Students who complete the program are awarded a certificate of training, which aids in workforce entry and earns them college credits for further education at Riverside City College. These elective CTE courses are exclusively available to Rubidoux High School students.
