Like the Monterey Motorsports Reunion, the annual Pebble Beach Tour d’Elegance presented by Rolex is an opportunity to view a museum in motion. This amazing event features more than 150 Concours entrant owners actually driving their masterpieces on the road to prove that their machines are not just trailer queens. The route begins on Portola Road in Pebble Beach, follows 17-Mile Drive, proceeds on California Highway One to Big Sur, and then returns to Pebble Beach to cross the finish line. A car that successfully completes the journey receives a bright green ribbon (look for them on cars in the show field on Concours Sunday) and gets the advantage over competitors in Sunday’s Concours d’Elegance if it is later tied in class competition in that event.

This is a great opportunity for the public to get a free first look at many of the amazing cars that will be on the Concours show field by viewing them along the route. Also, spectators who want to get a good viewing spot at the tour’s starting point should plan to get there early, since the cars begin to line up before 7:00 AM and leave promptly at 9:00 AM per the following schedule:

7:00 AM – Cars line up on Portola Road in Pebble Beach

9:00 AM – Tour begins

12:00 PM – Tour returns to Pebble Beach
