About Us and Our Mission: Cruising for a Cause

Some years ago, back in the 70’s, a group of car enthusiasts in Lorain County came together to share their passion for classic cars and a love for giving back to the community. This group of friends would gather at a local pizza joint, and as time went on, more and more cars began to join in on the fun. This tradition of cruising and camaraderie has continued to this day, with one mission in mind: to help those in need.

The Oldest Car Cruise in Lorain County

What started as a casual hangout has evolved into the oldest car cruise in Lorain County, thanks to the dedication and passion of our original Cruisers, including the knowledgeable Don Bob. With a rich history and a strong sense of community, our car cruise has become a staple event for car enthusiasts and philanthropists alike.

Giving Back to Those in Need

For the past two years, our dedicated volunteers have been flipping burgers and rolling hot dogs to feed the hungry Cruisers who attend our events. All the money raised from these food sales goes towards supporting local charities such as Lorain County food banks, Flying Horse Farms, burn units for children, and battered women’s shelters. Every bite at our event helps someone in need.

A Unique Musical Experience

When it comes to the music at our events, we stay true to our roots. If you’re looking for dance music or country tunes, you won’t find them at our car cruise. Instead, we provide a nostalgic playlist of 50’s and 60’s classics, old Rockabilly hits, and Surfer tunes – all to complement the hot rod atmosphere. After all, it’s a car cruise, and music is a big part of the experience!

Making a Difference in the Community

In 2012, we were able to make substantial donations to organizations like Flying Horse Farms and The Not Forgotten Box, providing toys for children in need. None of this would be possible without the incredible support of Cruisin Times and Big Al’s List, who help us gather information, promote our events, and make a difference in our community. We are grateful for their continued partnership and dedication to our cause.
