On September 10, 2017 Decatur, Illinois will host the 9th annual “Cruise 11 to Remember 9-11” event. The theme of the day will be Honor our Heroes to benefit our Patriots. The event will take place in Decatur’s Central Park. Cruise 11 serves as a fundraiser to provide funds for Help 4 Heroes Fund to provide necessities for Veterans in need. Last year over 100 Veterans in Nursing facilities was provided with Christmas gifts. “Cruise 11 to Remember 9-11” was created as a fundraiser to assist Veteran’s causes and in memory of Pvt. John Gifford, former Decatur ADM employee that joined the Marines after 9-11 and lost his life March 23, 2003, serving in Iraq. He was the first IL causality of the war.
