History of the Salute to Veterans Car & Motorcycle Show
This is the 7th Annual Salute to Veterans Car & Motorcycle Show
The event was a fundraiser for the Salvation Army Veterans & Family Center for 5 years 2012-2016
The event was a fundraiser for the Hillsboro VFW in 2017
The Car Show is an all-volunteer produced event including 75 -80 the day of the event
We are able to secure most of the event budget items at no cost so that 90% of the proceeds assist veterans
Funds are raised through trophy sponsorships, vehicle registrations, food sales, raffle, and vendor fees
$162,000 has been raised in six years for homeless veterans and their families
In 2012 we had 99 cars, a few motorcycles and city and county vehicles, and about 350 attendees
We grew in 2017 to 403 cars, 57 motorcycles, 20 military vehicles, a Huey and a Loach Helicopter
The Fire and Police Departments bring vehicles
All branches of the Military bring assets and personnel
There are a growing number of vendors and informational booths
The Corral Creek Blue Grass Band and the Classic Tracks DJ donate their time for the day
About 3000 people attended in 2017

ALL PROCEEDS WILL SUPPORT: Oregon Paralyzed Veterans of America (local projects), Returning Veterans Project, Salvation Army Veterans & Family Center (Transitional Housing for 80 homeless veterans and their families) and the MHRC Scholarship Fund (assisting students pursuing automotive related programs).
