Prancing Ponies Car Show
Review by | March 11th, 2026
On the same day and immediately next to the Ferrari Owners Club Concours, the San Francisco-based Prancing Ponies Foundation held its Prancing Ponies Women’s Car Show. This event was first held in Carmel-By-The-Sea during Monterey Car Week in 2017. The show is one of several fund-raisers that this non-profit organization holds in order to support the advancement of low-income women through providing opportunities for their attendance at leadership conferences, workshops, and seminars.
True to its worthy cause, the car show itself is an inspiration because in contrast to the male-dominated collector car world its organizers and participants are women, all of whom are owners or co-owners of collector cars. This achievement has given rise to the show’s unofficial tagline as “All Makes, All Models, All Years, All Women”. The evidence of the truth of this identification was immediately apparent upon entering the show’s display area, which was also on Pacific Avenue in Carmel-By-The-Sea. The 200 cars on display specifically ranged from a 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster to a 1959 Lincoln Mark IV Convertible to a 2024 Lamborghini Revuelto High-Performance Electric Vehicle (HPEV). Several rare models in the show were led by a 1993 Autozam AZ-1, a gull-winged sports car which was briefly manufactured (1992-1994) by Mazda solely for the Japanese market and thus hardly ever seen in our country.
As in prior years, there was also a fashion show, live music, and an invitation to exhibitors to dress in this year’s theme of “Rhinestone Cowgirls”. These festive additions exemplify the show’s welcoming atmosphere and contribute to a different car show experience that all spectators will enjoy. ![]()
